![]() ![]() It swings open giving you easier access to the storage box as well as makes the cup holders more accessible. The reason they call it the "Swing Case" is because it does just that. The case is fully assembled and ready for use straight out of the box. Once the brackets are installed (takes all of 5 minutes), you simply slide the swing case onto the hinges and you're ready to rock. Great way to design the brackets to minimize needing to drill any other holes AND to still use existing storage. The coolest thing about the brackets is that they angled them to allow the lid on the cubby to open up letting you gain full access. Everything lines up perfectly with the existing holes so lining up the brackets is dummy proof (I'm sure there are exceptions. The metal in the bed that it drills into is actually quite thick so it was nice that the company included the self drilling screws. The screws that come with the kit are self tapping and work quite well. The brackets that come with the kit (2 total) use a combination of pre-existing holes around the cubby and requires drilling 4 holes to fully mount. A little rubber/carpet layering would deafen the sound for sure. I opted to not use the tray or under the tray as I didn't want things rattling around. ![]() It also has a tray that can be removed to store smaller things in tiers. This storage container gives me that plus tons more space (always a bonus): I needed a storage solution to fit all the things I usually store under the seat. The storage container also lays flat on the ground w/out tipping over (and it has cup holders!). Huge bonus as it's very easy to remove the case on the fly to provide more bed space. The case slides off the mounted hinges very easily and w/out any tools. I mount my bike on the passenger side so I can see it easily through the rear view so I bought and installed the drivers side version. It also comes in both a drivers side version and a passenger side version. The brackets are designed to still let you gain access to the bed cubby storage (pictures below). This particular model (SC401) is made specifically for Toyota Tacoma 2nd and 3rd gen beds. The company, Undercover, does a great job making a swing case specific to the bed that you have. Here's my reviews with lots of pics.įirst off, the Swing Case comes in many different styles that are bed style specific. It's a little pricey at $189 shipped but to me, functionality, engineering, and meeting my needs made the price worth it. This case is pretty sweet and fits the bill for what I needed it for. Wanted something like a side mounted storage box while still keeping the length of my short bed's cargo space intact. Wanted something in the bed that wasn't a full on cargo box as I still need to tote my MTB around (w/out removing the wheel). Kid number two is on the way which means a child seat goes on top. I store things like a cargo net, jumper cables, bed rail accessories, etc. I utilize the rear drivers side under seat storage in my 4-door 3rd Gen Tacoma. ![]()
